Kylie Had A Little Lamb

If you made it over to Kylie's blog you would have seen one of her prayer requests was that she would become a good cook. As far as I am concerned that request has been granted. Last night Kylie made us a spectacular lamb roast. It was very tender, juicy and seasoned to perfection. We also had corn on the cob, honey glazed carrots, and seasoned potatoes. It was an awesome meal. I tell you, I will miss the availability of lamb when we make it back to the States. So Kylie did have a little lamb, but I had more than little myself.

A Special Surprise

My time in Australia has allowed me to see and experience many new things and on Saturday I added one more item to the list of things I didn't expect on my trip. A newborn baby! On Wednesday last week Kylie's friends (and now mine) experienced the birth of their first child. Janelle and Marcus Atkinson now have a new baby boy, David. Kylie and I spent some time at the hospital holding the baby and talking with the proud parents. I also was able to meet Marcus's mom and dad. In fact Marcus's father will driving for us on our wedding day. The afternoon visiting the Atkinso's was a nice change of pace and a welcome break from all the running around that Kylie and I have been doing.

The Footy

Last night I made it to my first ever rugby game. Queensland Reds vs. Pretoria Bulls (Pretoria is in South Africa for those who are wondering). We had seats 5 rows form the field near the end of the field. It was good location to view the action up close when they made it down to our area. These teams play rugby union rules. I can't really explain all the rules as I don't know them. It was still fun to watch, there were a few really hard hits and flaring tempers. They traded the lead all night long, with the final score being 20-19 in favor of the Reds. I am definitely glad that I got the oppurtunity to catch game before heading back to the U.S. Nothing like the Footy.

The Visa Interview Date Approved

Kylie sent an email to the consulate this week to see if her visa application forms were received. We got a response back saying that they had been received, that we got the interview date we requested, and that they sent out a response in the mail on the 3rd of April. Well we still haven't received the response yet, so we are not sure what is going with that, but it is definitely an answer to prayer that we got the date we wanted. The interview is going to take place on Tuesday, May 23rd at 8:00am or in Arizona time it would be Monday, May 22nd at 3:00pm. Next up is organizing our travel plans back to the Valley of the Sun.
